I'm used to people phoning me, so what happens when someone else books online? Won't I get a "double booking"?
There are two ways of dealing with this.
1. Ask the person phoning you to go online to make the booking. The system won't allow double bookings.
2. You will need to develop a new set of habits. After all, currently you handle all the bookings so you know that people need to contact you to make a booking. Using the internet requires a new set of habits. You will need to go online yourself and enter the booking details when someone phones you up. This new way of doing things allows you to control everything online instead of retaining all the details in your head.
Our online diary system shows you all the bookings you currently have so you can easily control bookings.
What if the system is down, what do I do?
Our website is hosted on one of the UK's top suppliers with in-depth security, backup and protection. We're confident that any such experience will be extremely rare and short-lived.

I have regular customers who come at set times of the year. How can I ensure that they will get their rooms/units?
You have total control over the availability of your rooms/units. This means you can either "block out" certain periods, put in "holding" bookings or reduce availability to the general public. Any of these means will allow you to ensure you can still provide the same service you always have.
You can use the same methods to "shut down" when you take your vacation!
Where are the listings for customers to book?

customers wishing to make a booking are directed.
This site (cornwallbooknow.com) is for businesses to set up their listing and booking information.

What information do you need for credit card validation?
This depends on the credit card validation you want us to perform. For example, for PayPal, we only require the login email for the account.
Does this mean you will be able to access the credit card account?
Definitely not. You require a login user name (usually email address) AND password. We will never ask you for your password and we will never access your account details.
I don't have a credit card service provider. How easy is it to set up?
Some people think it's a difficult and expensive process to do credit card authorisation. Things have moved on in the internet world and it is really very simple.
First of all we recommend that you register with PayPal , or Google Checkout by simply clicking on the link here provided. They have easy to follow instructions on how to set up an account and how to start collecting money over the internet. Their verification process takes about 2 or 3 weeks to certify the information you provide is bona fide (in a very easy manner). Then you are ready to go. Remember, the fees they charge are all you have to pay for the credit card verification (and they are low). We don't charge any fees for handling the connection for you.
I really don't have the time or the inclination to do anything like this. Can you help?
We understand that some people simply don't have the time. Their happy running their business and understand it's good to be taking orders from the internet, but quite frankly it's all a bit "much". Are the bookings available on line for me to see?
Yes you can view bookings made and availability 24/7 on our website.
Can I add bookings I make over the telephone?
Yes, you can add bookings either manually or through our convenient download facility.
Can I "connect" my current website to this site so that people can make bookings?
Yes, we can furnish you with the details so that you can embed a link in your website to the booking information you set up for your business. We do recommend that you do this through our integration of "look and feel" option but this is not necessary if you prefer.
I'm worried about "double booking". Does the system help?
You currently control your bookings, so you are confident about handling things correctly. Handing over responsibility for something that is extremely important to you will cause anxiety and we understand that. You can imagine that people doing things online represents a whole new "unknown". Relax. We've developed our software from the ground up to prevent exactly this sort of situation.
When the booking process starts we confirm availability of rooms/units/activities in our calendar and display only those dates where a customer can make a booking. We validate this after the customer has entered their preliminary details - arrival date, number of nights, number of people, ... When we confirm, we double-check again just in case the customer has taken such a long time that somebody else from around the world has booked in as well - in case something so extraordinary as this happens, we back up and advise the customer.
You also have the ability to enter bookings manually, or even upload bookings from other software. We will advise you if you attempt to double book, so that you can take remedial action.
